Internship and Practical Studies

Dear friends,

Ecotrackes is pleased to receive you and helping you during an internship with us. Our interest is to prepare students, volunteers and specialists in order to protect Ancient knoledge, We start teaching Spanish (in case the students envolved in the internship do not know).

Then the student will be prepared with a History, Anthropology and other different types of knowledge from the Pacific Ocean, the Andes and the Amazon Rain forest, like the cosmovision, the medicine through the medicinal plants, etc.

In a second phase, the students will visit the place they consider the most interesting to participate in the daily life of the community. This daily life includes: education, health, traditional medicine, agriculture, fishing, familiar and social life. At the same time the student will learn, while investigating, the main facts that influence in the local life and how do pleople react and interact with the problems.

Finally, they have to write a report in our weblogs, and translate it into Spanish, English and in their native language.

Ecotrackers helps with the logistics that includes accommodation, food, coordination for the student’s mobilization in public transportation, canoes or horses. The students will have the local directors to guide your observations and activities, information and experience, expeditions, meetings, etc. They will help the student with any problem that could appear . Back in Quito, the student will get the necesary help to publish his or her report on the Ecotrackers’ Weblog.

Our volunteers, students and specialist help to teach people how to use the English language, the nature and their own culture to attract new students, volunteers and specialists who will pay to learn from the community (intelligent tourism).

To work in this area is necessary a better understanding, from the people of the communities, of the natural environment and Cultural History of each community, a concience of what is happening in the world, how important is to speak other languages. So, is necessary to show them the different world’s changes how can they protect biodiversity and cultural richness of their regions.
